In 1896, the Supreme Court of the United States (Court) sanctioned the separate but equal doctrine in the landmark case of Plessy v. Ferguson (Plessy). It held that whites could maintain separate public facilities if black public facilities were equal.  Learn More

Why Obama, Why Now!
Under normal circumstances, I would not support the presidential candidacy of a person merely because of the person’s race. However, in this historical moment, I am admittedly supporting Senator Obama primarily because he is the first African American presidential candidate with a real possibility of winning at least his party’s nomination.  Learn More
